Art of Living Accomplishments in Children’s Garden Home and School “A place for all”
3 Class rooms built by Art of Living
Art of Living has constructed three classes for the high school which are currently being used by Form 1, 2 and 3. These classes have really helped us give a conducive environment for the students as they are now able to concentrate more on their studies. The first class was built in the year 2014 and the last one in 2016.
Pre-school class built by Art of Living
Kindergarten class built by Art of Living completed in February 2019. This classroom has helped give the children a learning mood from the hall which was constantly interrupted. We are looking to the children improving academically since they are now able to contrite on their studies.
Art of Living pays our teachers’ salary
Being a charitable organization; CGH would struggle so much to raise salary for the teachers but Art of Living faithfully pay salaries to the teachers so that the children are not deprived of their right to education. The commitment of salary payment by AOL has now seen the school have a consistent team of teachers that are dedicated to giving the best to the children.
Community Cooker built by Art of Living
The community cooker projected is a project that was first introduced by Art of Living in the year 2013. The core objective being to provide affordable fuel for CGH and the surrounding community. The cooker uses waste materials like waste papers for heating and therefore very affordable as they can be gotten freely from the local community. It helps us with cooking the food for the home and also for the restaurant that acts an income generating project for the home and also established by AOL.
The project has not come without challenges as it first become dysfunctional in the year 2014 due to neighbors’ complainants of smoke in the area. All appreciation to Art of Living Kenya for reviving the project in 2015 and now the school can enjoy the services offered by the jiko and especially during periods when we don’t have firewood or its expensive to buy.
Restaurant by Art of Living
Art of Living has facilitated the operations of a restaurant in CGH that acts as an income generating project for the home. The restaurant has supported the home a lot especially in funding the daily operations of the home that requires urgent money.
Guest Toilets
The toilets were constructed by AOL in 2017 for the guests who initially used to find it difficult as the available toilets were always congested with children queuing.
