ART OF LIVING FOOD DONATION

On 8th April 2020, the Art of living donated a total of amount of Kshs.100,000 to help in purchasing foodstuffs for the needy in Dagoretti Constituency and surroundings. The amount was received by the panel representing art of Living in Nairobi namely Mr. Moses (CGH) Humphrey (St. Theresa), Felistus (decit) and Mr. John.

The following food stuff was bought to feed 200 families

Distribution of donated food and division of responsibilities

The food served 200 families in various locations in Dagoretti Constituency. It was divided into four (4) portions of equal quantities. Mr. Moses received a 1∕4 which served 50 families in Gathondeki, Kawangware and Ndwani. Mr. Humphrey received 1∕4 which served 50 families in Kabiria, Satellite and Waithaka. Madam Felistus got a 1∕4 which served 50 families in Muthini and Mr. John got 1∕4 which served 50 families in Kawangware and Muslim. Arithmetically, each received food worth Kshs.25,000 for 50 families.

By evening of 9th, each of the 200 families had received 1kg of beans, 1 liter of cooking oil, 2kg of flour, 1kg of rice, a packet of salt, a piece of a bar soap and a carrying bag.

Each representative was assisted by volunteers from each project as well as local administrators, as it was necessary to avoid disorganization. Each representative had to transport the food from packing site to their homes (beneficiary homes), to maintain social health distance.

Beneficiaries

All beneficiaries signed against their names after receiving a bag containing flour 1 packet, a pact of salt, piece of soap, 1kg rice and 2kg of beans. The scanned copies have been attached.

Though problems are many ranging from unemployment, drug abuse, lack of basic needs like blankets, beds and proper hygiene facilities, we thank you for what you have done.
